AfroBeba is a backhaul freight marketplace for East Africa. It connects people with cargo to truck owners who have space on their return trips, so empty legs can carry paying loads.
Users sign up and get verified, post loads with pickup and delivery points and a proposed price, and get matched with transporters on their route. Deals are secured through M-Pesa escrow, shipments are tracked live, and payment is released once delivery is confirmed.
The platform is mobile-first, built for low-bandwidth networks, and sends updates by SMS and WhatsApp.
